Member of the Month - Amy HernandezWhen Amy Hernadez started working out three years ago she was worried that she wouldn't have enough time or be able to establish a good workout routine. She is glad she started anyways, she has so much more energy and has noticed her focus has improved immensely.  Amy, owner of the very popular Rio Vista in Henry, is a busy woman who gets up early in the morning to get herself revved up for the day.  She has found that group fitness classes work great for her, "Focus is hard for me, exercising alone is not for me.  I tend to be social and combining casual conversation with a guided workout makes the time go by quick! The physical and mental workout (left/right directionality) has made a tremendous difference in my energy and ability levels. Classes at LFT are fun, engaging and motivational.  I am doing exercises I have never even heard of!".

Traveling, theatre, and hiking are three of Amy's favorite hobbies. When it comes to traveling and hiking Amy says, "My endurance and physical abilities have improved since I have been exercising!  Climbing up steep hills, long hikes, swimming and lots of walking are enjoyable!  I used to get winded and need to sit and rest! My energy and endurance is great, just like the energizer bunny!  I rarely get worn out!".

Owner of Lacon Fitness and Tan, Amanda Barnett has plenty of reasons why Amy is deserving of the title "Member of the Month". Amanda states a few for us here, "Everyone loves Amy's positive attitude, it is infectious. People can't help but have a better day just from talking to Amy. She is a go-getter. Once her feet hit the floor in the morning she is off to class then  has a busy day ahead of her.  She makes her health a priority. Amy could stay in bed in the morning, she could skip her workouts during her lunch break because she is so busy, but she doesn't. She gets how working out positively affects all areas of her life so she gets up every morning and gets after it."  When asked what her favorite thing about Lacon Fitness and Tan is, her response is, "The family vibe!  You are only a stranger once!  Everyone is kind and encouraging.  The staff is patient and readily helps and makes modifications if needed." Amy has great advice for others, "Choose to make exercise fun by working hard and being able to laugh at yourself! Rome wasn’t built in a day, give it time.  Enjoy the warm welcoming environment that LFT provides, go to the variety of classes provided! There are friends here that you haven’t met yet!". Congratulations Amy!
