Joe used to be like a lot of us - go to work, come home, eat dinner, watch TV, go to bed, and repeat it all the next day. Six years ago Joe decided that he had “worked too hard his entire life to just sit on the couch”. That is when he decided to do something about it by joining the gym. He wanted to be more active and hoped to lose some weight along the way. When Joe first started working out he was worried, like most, about being judged about his fitness level but soon realized that everyone at Lacon Fitness and Tan is very kind and supportive.
Recently, when Joe took his grandkids to the park he realized just how much his fitness has improved. Usually, he would sit on the bench and watch the kids play but now he can play with them! He told staff at LFT, “I did something I never thought I would be able to do, I played at the park with my grandkids. I pushed them on the swings and played basketball with them. I didn’t think I would ever be able to do that”. Amanda, owner of Lacon Fitness and Tan, said Joe was nominated for Member of the Month because “he understands that exercise leads to being more active and improves your quality of life. It is great that exercise can make you look good but that is not all it can do. Joe has shown that exercise can give you opportunities to make memories with your family. That is too often an overlooked component of exercise”.
There are days when Joe has to talk himself into coming to the gym after work but it has become part of his routine and is easier now. He knows he will feel better if he just goes for even a 30 minute workout. Joe has continued to show improvements and is surpassing goals for him set by the trainers at LFT. Congratulations Joe! Keep up the good work!
